Dear Mrs Linn,

Thank you very much for your letter and the socks which you are sending for your brother’s platoon. There are still a few of his men left who were not in the trenches with him on July 10^th, and I will have your socks distributed in his Company. I hope your brother is quite well again. We have heard of him once or twice and he was getting on well.
